Korea’s top hip-hop couple Tiger JK and Tasha got a special house invitation from Quincy Jones, the world-famous musician and producer. 

On December 11th, Jungle Entertainment(Tiger JK and Tasha’s agency) announced on its official Twitter page, “After receiving a personal invite from Quincy Jones himself, Tiger JK and Tasha got to visit Quincy Jone’s house! Quincy Jones is a living legend in the American music industry. Leessang, Tiger JK, & Yoon Mi Rae: Concert in LA, USA huge success

‘Hip Hop Family’ Jungle Entertainment successfully finished their concert overseas.

On December 3rd, ‘M-Live by CJ Jungle Concert’ took place at the Wiltern Theater in L.A, USA. The concert is a first for a Hip Hop label. Local media including LA Times reported on the concert and the artists in detail showing interest.

Artists like Leessang, Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, Jung In, and Bizzy showed off the power of Korean Hip Hop to the 3,000 or so audience members at the concert.

For Leessang’s stage, the audience called for an encore 3 times. Gil could not hide his excitement and said, “Just arrived in L.A. just before the concert so I am out of it but let’s just play all night till we die!.” The fans were screaming passionately wearing T-shirts that read, ‘I want you Kang Gary‘.

Tiger JK, BIZZY, and Yoon Mi Rae showed off their ‘Korean Jay-Z and Beyonce-like’ performance. As they were rapping, not only the audience on the first floor but the audience on the second floor gave a standing ovation enjoying the performance on their feet. Park Jae Bum and Styliztik Jones, who are close friends of Tiger JK also visited the concert.

The staff was also excited. One of the local staff said, “The smooth melody in the strong beat and the rhyme innately Korean is really impressive.”

Tiger JK revealed, “I wanted to perform at the Wiltern Theater since I was young so I am very emotional. I promise to come back to L.A again.”

CJ E & M Concert Department which planned the concert relayed, “L.A. market where CJ Infra is located in and 2nd generation Koreans are will be a very important base for the move into the American market. With continuous performance and active support, we will lead in the globalization and expansion of K-Pop Genre.”

Tiger JK And Yoon Mi Rae Make ‘LA Times’ Headlines

Popular singing couple, Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae, was recently in the ‘LA Times’ headlines. 

On December 2 (Local Time), LA Times reported on the life of Tiger JK; from his birth to his background in music, to his many activities in Korea. The title of the article was, “Tiger JK, big in South Korea, heads to L.A. and aims to turn a U.S. audience on to his brand of rap.” 

In the article, Tiger JK talks about his childhood, and growing up in LA. He talks about trying to resolve the cultural difference between him, the whites and the blacks through hip hop music. It also reported on his wife, Yoon and his family. 

They called the couple the “Korean Jay-Z and Beyonce.” Tiger JK said, “I want to win a Grammy and say thank you in Korean.” 

The outlet also interviewed Ahn Seok Joon, executive director of CJ E & M, which directed the ‘M-Live by CJ Jungle Concert in LA.’ It said that Asian American rap, including Far East Movement and Black Eyed Peas, is a current trend. It also predicted that through the concert, Korean hip hop will spread through the U.S. starting in L.A. 

CJ E & M says, “We’ve been holding concerts overseas for five years and it has helped us cooperate with foreign companies. We saw the success potential of Korean hip hop. We will support everything we can to make that potential come true.

Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, Leessang, and more to rock L.A. with a concert

Earlier, we reported that some of Korea’s top music labels had teamed up with CJ E&M to launch a new global concert brand called ‘M-Live‘. 

During the press conference for the launch, Jungle Entertainment, one of the participating entertainment companies, had revealed that they would be holding a concert in L.A. 

On November 3rd, ‘M-Live’ announced that Jungle Entertainment would be holding their ‘[M Live by CJ] Jungle Concert in L.A.’ on December 2nd at ‘The Wiltern’. 

Jungle Entertainment’s Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, Leessang, Jung In, and Bizzy will all fly out to L.A. to deliver a spectacular show. 

The label stated, “It’s very inspiring to be able to lead the way for Korean hip hop’s globalization as the K-Pop craze is striking the world.” 

‘The Wiltern’ is a venue that can house 3,000 spectators, and has hosted shows from world famous act like Jay-Z, Eminem, Adele, Smashing Pumpkins, Tears for Fears, and more.

Yoon Mirae to expand her career to the U.S.?

On October 27th, R&B/rapper Queen Yoon Mirae released her digital single "Get It In" along with its music video, which featured her husband, Tiger JK. The single was composed by U.S. producer !Ilmind and penned by both herself and her husband. !Ilmind is known to have worked with well-known American artists Eminem and 50cent. 

According to Jungle Entertainment on October 27th, Yoon Mirae is also seeking to expand her music career into the American market. 

An official from the agency said, "A number of music-related personnel in New York and Los Angeles have approached her after listening to her music so we're planning for her debut in the country sometime next year. Right now, we are just talking to people...no decisions have been made and no contracts have been signed yet." 

An English version of "Get It In" was also available on her single in addition to the Korean version. The English version features rapper Smokey Robotic.

Tasha swiftly sweeps the charts with ‘Get It In’

A lot of the focus in the music industry was shifted on legendary hip hop queen, Yoon Mi Rae (Tasha), who released her single album ‘Get It In‘ on the 27th.

The singer achieved an all-kill as soon as the single dropped, seizing #1 slots on various music sites such as Mnet, Olleh Music, Cyworld BGM, Naver Music, Bugs, Soribada, as well as being the #1 searched personality on major Korean search engines. This only proved that fans were highly anticipating Tasha’s release of her new track and are ecstatic that she has finally made a comeback.

Even with the idol queens SNSD making their own comeback recently, Tasha fearlessly released her single without much promotion and was able to swiftly rise to the top of the music charts, living up to her title as Korea’s hip hop queen. Her English version of ‘Get It In’ is also climbing the charts, garnering attention of those in the music industry and fans alike.

‘Get It In’ is the brainchild of producer !llmind, who combined hip hop with trendy electronic beats for a track that’ll rock speakers all over the world. DJ Koo to Release Track for MAMA 2011 Featuring Yoon Mirae

DJ Koo and Yoon Mirae will be leading promotion efforts for this year’s Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

DJ Koo will release Music Makes One, a track he produced for the 2011 MAMA, on October 28, and it will feature Korea’s resident queen of hip hop Yoon Mirae.

The DJ and now producer released his first digital single Come Back (Remix) in August, and the track is on par with the electronic music artists like LMFAO and David Guetta have made famous.

Yoon was recently named one of the Top 12 ‘Best New Female Emcees’ by MTV Iggy, and the hip hop queen’s latest single Get It In stole the number one spot on various music charts upon its release on October 27.

On his new single, DJ Koo said, “My primary focus was to create a song that matches the MAMA’s theme of ‘Music Makes One’ and that dance music lovers can enjoy. Songs by LMFAO and David Guetta have been receiving a lot of love these days, and I want to give rise to a true festival for Asians through the song which is on trend worldwide.” 

The bass-heavy, synth track will be released at midnight on October 28 through various music websites like Mnet.com.

The 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on November 29. The red carpet will roll out at 5 p.m., before the main event, which will take place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The cutest hip hop couple Tiger JK and his wife Yoon Mi Rae have released a sexy picture of themselves.

On October 26, the rapper posted a message on his me2day saying, “Tonight at 12 will be the release of Yoon Mi Rae’s new single 'Get It In,' which is made in collaboration with Lumpens and The Creators Project. It is a movie-like music video involving a love quarrel,” and posted a picture along with the message. 

This picture is a homage to John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono and is based on their last nude picture of 1980 (see below for the original picture for comparison).

Yoon Mirae Reveals New Single "Get It In"

Female artist Yoon Mirae has revealed her new single, "Get It In." 

On October 25, this single will be released on several different music portal sites. "Get It In" is a combination of hip-hop and electronica and has a trendy melody and beat. There are two versions, one in Korean and one in English. "Get It In" has been composed by !llmind, who is a famous American producer with experience with top hip-hop artists such as Eminem and 50cent. 

Along with !llmind's song composition, Yoon Mirae and Tiger JK wrote the lyrics, exhibiting the greatest collaboration for this new single. In the Korean version, soul artist Jung In, along with Yoon Mirae's husband, Tiger JK has participated as vocals for the song, showing great loyalty and love toward Yoon Mirae. 

The group Smokey Robotic has been featured in the English version. Smokey Robotic is an American group, mixing a variety of genres such as hip-hop, pop, and electronica. 

Recently, Yoon Mirae was named as one of the top 12 female rappers in the world by MTV's Iggy. 

The music video for "Get It In" will be produced by The Creators Project, which is a worldwide cultural program. Yoon Mirae and Tiger JK are the Korean representative musicians for The Creators Project and will show great acting and action scenes in the video. 

Currently Yoon Mirae is showing a warm but charismatic side as a judge for Superstar K Season 3.

Yoon Mi Rae recently vocalized her support for the contestants on Mnet‘s ‘Superstar K3‘.

On October 22nd, Yoon Mi Rae tweeted some words of praise near the end of the show’s live broadcast that day. She wrote, “To today’s ‘Superstar K’ participants: everyone did extremely well! I felt like I was watching a concert! Even though the tone was off pitch in some parts, I don’t think it was that important when you’re in the ‘Top 5′. Yoon Mirae Makes the List of Top 12 Female Rappers in the World

Yet another Korean artist has been elevated to a global attention-worthy status. 

The music blog site MTV iggy for the US's MTV network recently posted a ranking of the 12 best new female emcees dominating mics everywhere. Here, Korea's very own Yoon Mi-rae was included, being dubbed the Queen of South Korean Hip Hop. 

The list included a mini write-up of the star noting her marriage to the "King of hip hop" Tiger JK, having been born in the US with a soulful voice, and her undeniable rapping skills. 

She shared the honor with the likes of Mexico's indie hip hop star Nina Dioz, Muthoni The Drummer Queen originally from Kenya, Arabyrd from Malaysia, Chile's Ana Tijoux, and England's Lioness. These are all big names in terms of female hip hop stars in their respective countries. 

Yoon's agency, Jungle Entertainment stated to a news source in Korea, "Yoon Mirae's promotions abroad are expected to really pick up with a global project song set to be released via iTunes sometime in the middle of this month."

Yoon Mirae, "I never apologize when I fight with Tiger JK"

Singer Yoon Mirae revealed her fights with Tiger JK. Aired on October 1, Yoon Mirae and Tiger JK were both featured in KBS “Entertainment Relay” when being interviewed on set for their campaign against child trafficking.

On this day during the interview, Yoon Mirae said, “When we fight, one person definitely has to back down, but that person is never me and I never say I’m sorry.” In other words, Tiger JK is always the person to lend his hand first.

Tiger JK said, “Marriage is the result of effort in putting love as the foundation, because you have to live with that one person forever” and “Do you know how scary it is in living with them for forever?”

Meanwhile, the two have revealed that due to having to go on stage often, the time they have in spending with their son Jordan has decreased. They even shared an episode where Jordan told them, “Don’t sing and gain awards.”

Yoon Mi Rae stuns ‘Superstar K3′ audience with her beautiful dress

On the September 30th episode of Mnet‘s ‘Superstar K3‘, the queen of Korean hip hop, Yoon Mi Rae made an appearance with Yoon Jong Shin as her escort, wearing a stunning black halter dress. 

The sleek black dress perfectly outlined her curvacious figure, and she expressed an elegant appeal that’s quite different from her beloved image as Korea’s ‘Hip Hop Queen’. 

In related news, the show will round out its Top 10 contestants, but with a bit of a twist this time around. Normally, the Top 10 on ‘Superstar K’ are decided with 35% of the judges’ votes, 60% of viewer’s votes, and 5% of online votes. In ‘Superstar K3′, not all the semifinalists were revealed, so the final decision was made combining 40% of judges’ votes with 60% of the viewer’s mobile votes.

Tiger JK and Tasha raise awareness for child sex trafficking

Tiger JK and his wife Yoon Mi Rae (also known as Tasha) recently attended ECPAT’s petition event to protect the rights of teens and children.

On September 29th, this prominent celebrity couple arrived in Seoul to bring awareness on the issues of sex trafficking and sexual abuse against young children. Headed by ECPAT and The Body Shop, this global campaign saw a second appearance from Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae, who participated in a ‘Stop Child Sex Trafficking’ event back in August.

Leessang's Gary to make a cameo appearance in Yoon Mirae's comeback MV

Hip-hop artist Gary of the group Leessang released a photo of himself with R&B singer and rapper Yoon Mirae. On September 28th, Gary posted on Twitter, "Cameo appearance at Yoon Mirae's music video. I have smokey eyes. Yoon Mirae's upcoming song is the best!"

Gary uploaded a photo along with his post and it showed him wearing a black suit and awkwardly smiling, while Yoon Mirae can be seen next to him holding a microphone laughing.

Netizens posted, "What is Yoon Mirae's album like? I'm really expecting it," "What's the concept for Gary?" and "You look like you came from the underworld."

Meanwhile, it was revealed that Yoon Mirae, who has been working hard on both her album and as a judge on Superstar K3, among other activities, went to the hospital where she stayed for 4 days due to a fever and overwork. Tiger JK & Yoon Mi Rae congratulate Gaeko on becoming a dad

As reported earlier, Dynamic Duo‘s Gaeko and his wife Kim Soomi welcomed their newborn son on September 28th. The couple received an outpour of congratulations from family, friends, and fans alike, one of which being from Korea’s most prolific hip hop couple, Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae (a.k.a. Tasha). 

Tiger JK congratulated Gaeko with the short tweet, “Daddy Gaeko“, while Yoon Mi Rae wrote on her Twitter, “Kaekoe! Congratulations on the birth of your newborn son!” 

Netizens who heard the news responded with, “I wanna see if he looks like his dad“, “He sure knows a lot of people“, “Congratulations” and “His baby will play well with Jordan“.

Superstar K3 grabs top ratings for 7th consecutive week!

On September 23rd, ‘Super Star K3‘ recorded it’s best viewership rating of the season with a mark of 14.7% which is a 0.1% increase from the week before. It’s no surprise that the show has been holding on to the 1st spot in viewer ratings for 7 consecutive weeks. The average rating for the show this season is 12.3%, but this week’s episode seems to have drawn in more viewers as the show announced the top 9 finalists in the competition.

On this week’s broadcast, both uncle and aunt fans were passionately cheering on the contestants as they saw Shin Ji Soo, Two Gaewol, Lee Jeong Ah, Chris, Min Hun Gi, Kim Do Hyun, Christina, Lee Gun Yul, and Oo Lala Session move on to the next round. Unfortunately, Son Yeh Rim, Park Pil Gyu, Choi Yeong Tae, and Kang Jin Ah were eliminated and were forced to leave the competition.

In addition, a new group combined from two teams, Haze and Busker Busker were picked through video reviews by 3 judges to compete in the competition along with the other 9. The next episode for Super Star K3 is scheduled to air on the 30th.
