Tiger JK Shares His Mindset About Donating, Talks About Being Apart From Yoon Mi Rae Due To COVID-19

On the latest episode of KBS 2TV’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” Tiger JK appeared as a guest alongside Bizzy and BiBi.

The three guests started off by performing “Angel,” and during the interview afterward, Yoo Hee Yeol commented that Tiger JK has lost some weight.

Tiger JK explained, “My wife Yoon Mi Rae was overseas for a performance, and we had to spend some time apart due to COVID-19. I had no appetite because I was so worried.” Laughing, he added, “Our toes have to be touching for me to fall asleep.”

Yoo Hee Yeol balked at the detail and joked, ” Isn’t that just a bit too much to share? We don’t need to know that.”

He continued, asking the artist about his donations and how he once donated his entire savings. Tiger JK said, “I believe that in the end, everything is connected. And we can’t take our money with us when we die.”

Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae lament how their son Jordan is going through puberty

On the March 30th episode of 'I Live Alone', rapper Jessi visited the home of the legendary hip-hop couple, leaving a gift for their son Jordan. As they were catching up, both Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae explained how Jordan was apparently going through "the storm and gale of life" these days because he hit puberty at the age of eleven.

"He wouldn't even talk to us," they shared. "He doesn't even start the conversation, ever. He doesn't leave the house."

Back in the studio, Jessi explained how she had really wanted to see Jordan in person, but could not because he refused to come out of his room. "He was doing computer games, and they say he completely ignores them," relayed Jessi.

As a future mother some day, Jessi made the cast members laugh when she shared her own strict rules on child-rearing and discipline: "If s/he doesn't come out of the house like Jordan, then s/he needs a bit of spanking. Pinch 'em, or something."

Suran Talks About Sending Handwritten Letter To Yoon Mi Rae For Collaboration

Singer Suran shared her thoughts on working with Yoon Mi Rae and Heize for her comeback album.

On March 22 at 4 p.m. KST, Suran held a concert for her comeback album at the Spigen Hall located in Seoul. Her second mini album “Jumpin'” was released later that day.

“Jumpin'” is a new leap forward for Suran, who has always been walking the same way through her first mini album “Walkin’.” It is an album that portrays her will to continue her path with her own uniqueness. Yoon Mi Rae and Heize featured in it as well.

First, Suran mentioned working Yoon Mi Rae on the song “Wander & Flow,” and said, “When I first made this song, I wanted to sing it with Yoon Mi Rae. With the thought of making my dream come true, I wrote a letter and sent it to her along with the song. She didn’t have to do it, but when she said she would help me, I was thrilled. I’m so honored to have her name on this album.”

Suran To Collaborate With Yoon Mirae For Next Comeback

Suran is gearing up to make a much anticipated comeback, and she is changing things up by collaborating with rapper Yoon Mirae for a track.

Their collaboration, titled “의식의 흐름 (Flow of Consciousness)”, was a song that both artists have worked on for quite some time. The track is described as a trendy R&B pop and hip-hop song, with Yoon Mirae supplying the rap portions.

Aside from Yoon Mirae, Suran is reportedly collaborating with rapper pH-1 and music producer Philtre on separate tracks for her upcoming mini album. These phenomenal collaborations will be released on March 22.

IU appeared as a special guest at Yoon Mi Rae’s concert!

On July 14, Yoon Mi Rae held the first night of her solo concert at the Jangchung Arena in Seoul.

Donning a white dress, IU appeared as the next guest after rapper Dok2. The concertgoers sang along with her as she sang “Friday” on stage.

After her performance, IU introduced herself as an “unexpected guest who appeared at Yoon Mi Rae’s concert.”

She continued, “There was a time when Yoon Mi Rae appeared as a guest when I was a rookie. I came because I’m a fan as well. It’s awkward coming to a hip hop concert. I have some performance skills myself, but Dok2 livened up the atmosphere, so I’m startled.”

She added, “But you all greeted me by singing along, so I sincerely thank you. If I had a rap song, I would’ve sung that.”

Yoon Mi Rae is holding a solo concert for the first time in 12 years on July 14 and 15. The singer plans to have guests such as IU, Dok2, and Han Dong Geun at her shows where she’ll create special stages spanning a vast genre of music including hip hop, R&B, ballad, and OST.

Yoon Mi Rae also released her fifth album “Gemini 2” and title track “You & Me” featuring Junoflo on July 5.

On July 9th, Yoon Mi Rae’s agency, Feel GHood Music, has announced that several artists will be guests as Yoon Mi Rae’s solo concert ‘YOONMIRAE’ at the Jangchung Arena in Seoul on July 14 and 15.

The guests are revealed to be IU, Dok2 and Han Dong Guen, to perform various songs from OSTs, hip-hop, R&B and ballad songs.

This will be Yoon Mi Rae’s first solo concert in twelve years, as she has been in the music industry for nearly 20 years now.

In response, his agency Choon Entertainment commented, “Yong Guk’s solo track has received the support of Yoon Mi Rae. We are thankful to Yoon Mi Rae who gladly agreed to feature.”

Kim Yong Guk’s upcoming solo release is his first after the expiration of JBJ’s contracts in April. He participated in writing the lyrics for the track, which is scheduled for a June release.

Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae continue to be role models for many by giving back to those in need.

On January 5, reports stated that the couple Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae will be donating 7,200 liquid formulas (liquid milk powder) to babies in need through the Korean Social Welfare Society. This was done as part of the 'Heart Meal Campaign', which promised liquid formula donations while spreading the awareness of congenital metabolic disorders and supporting those in need.

Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae are well-known for donating and engaging in numerous activities for those who are in difficult environments. Additionally, it was reported that Tiger JK and Bizzy donated their guaranteed pay from 'Show Me The Money 6' to help low-income single mothers and adopted children.

Two genius musicians collaborate in #CaptureTheCity Project, capturing the hustle and bustle of Seoul City.

Boys Noize, an Electronic Artist and Yoon Mi Rae, one of the most renowned female musicians in Korea, has teamed up together to create a track using the iconic sounds of one of the busiest cities of the world, Seoul.

Heineken, a premier beer brand has combined music with its brand marketing to come up with a variety of marketing strategies. This time they have requested the two  musicians to work in a project that deals with Seoul. The song highlights the fun side of the city.

Project Story – Yoon Mi Rae & Boys Noize a special collaboration!

Heineken was looking for creative content that honors the cities of their consumers. They came up with an idea to ‘take the ordinary things found within the city and change it something extraordinary, making the residents see it under a new light." Working on this, they took various sounds from the city, sampled it, and hence #CaptureTheCity project was born.

They had to have an amazing producer, so they requested Boys Noize, a world famous German DJ/Producer to work on this project.

Heineken was also looking for a world class collaboration partner who would appeal to a worldwide audience. They (as well as Boys Noize) had their eyes on Yoo MiRae, a vocalist/rapper who is recognized worldwide. Contact was made, green light was shone. The collaboration was a go ahead.

Despite the fact the two artists lived in two different countries (Korea/Mexico), they worked together magnificently and focused on the unique sounds that Seoul City possesses. The lyrics showcase Seoul City, and the MV captured scenes that makes the everyday look special.

MFBTY go goth rock for Hanwha Eagles cheer song

The HanWha Eagles earlier this month asked MFBTY to give their fans a new song to cheer at games. The team is now top ranked in the league, but team managers were done with the 30-year old outdated theme.  As a result, MFBTY stepped in to create a goth rock/hip-hop medley, “Eagling,” a modern and catchier cheer for the on fire team.

To go with the sound, MFBTY dresses like dark chanters surrounded by the Eagles’ male cheerleading team, urging listeners to cheer on.

Rapper and singer Yoon Mi Rae sparkled in her beauty-themed pictorial for the July issue of @Star1. The photoshoot was called "Le Disco" and it included shimmering eyeshadow looks, soft pink lips, sequined adorned dresses that glimmered underneath the spotlight and a stream of puffy hairstyles.

According to the magazine, the concept highlighted the new glitter color collection by MAC Cosmetics. During her accompanying interview, Yoon discussed motherhood, how she stays "glamorous," her musical activities and future career plans.

When asked to choose her favorite song from her extensive discography, Yoon answered, "It's too hard to decide. I want to go karaoke by myself and sing all of them. I want to forget the tone and beat and just go crazy. I should go soon."

The artist also stated that she's in a very positive and creative point in her life. She explained, "I am very happy right now. I'm beside the people I love and I'm doing the music I like."

In 2013, Yoon and her husband Tiger JK, along with rapper Bizzy, left their music label Jungle Entertainment and founded their own company, FEELGHOOD MUSIC. Since then, the trio have had complete creative control over their productions.

Tiger JK, who also participated in the interview, shared his thoughts on his wife's career. He joked, "I feel dissatisfied. If Mi Rae were at SM [SM Entertainment] or YG [YG Entertainment], she would have been amazing."

Yoon Mi Rae and Sony Pictures Reach Settlement regarding Unauthorized Use of Her Song in “The Interview”

It has been revealed that after four months of back and forth, singer-rapper Yoon Mi Rae and Sony Pictures have reached a settlement regarding the unauthorized use of her song “Pay Day” in the Hollywood comedy film “The Interview.”

In an email sent on May 13 to Yonhap News, a Sony Pictures representative states, “We acknowledge that we used Yoon Mi Rae’s song ‘Pay Day’ before receiving an official license” and “We want to emphasize that the fact that the track was included [in ‘The Interview] does not mean that Yoon Mi Rae, Tiger JK, or Feel Ghood Music condones the content [of the film].”

Finally, “Both sides have amicably resolved this matter, so we hope to not have to talk about this issue anymore,” the email reads. The terms of the settlement were not included.

Meanwhile, Yoon Mi Rae’s management agency Feel Ghood Music revealed in December of last year that Yoon Mi Rae’s song “Pay Day” had been used without permission in “The Interview” and that they would be taking legal action.
